MONACO GRAND PRIX

Is it time to use the words 'jewel' and 'crown' yet? Thought so. It's a whopping great cliché but Monaco is a just a bit special. It may be something of an anachronism but to see Formula One cars kissing the barriers on the exit of Ste Devote and pinballing through the swimming pool section of the street circuit is about as visceral as F1 gets. They might be going slower than at a normal circuit but they never look so fast and you'll rarely get so close to the action. They don't make 'em like this any more, probably with good reason, but they should, they really should. Heroic, intense, glitzy, glam and yep, just a bit trashy too, Monaco is the ultimate grand prix adventure and a race every fan should get to at least once in a lifetime.

WELCOME TO MONACO

What to do at the Monaco Grand Prix? Well, let's see... how about partying like there's no tomorrow and when you achingly find out there is a tomorrow then how about starting the party all over again to dull the pain. Monaco is all about living large. There's always a party on somewhere, whether it's on a yacht, in a club or just outside Rascasse where huge crowds gather every night to drink, dance and watch the nightly parade of supercars edging their bling-tastic way around the open circuit. So forget about the bank balance, set your credit card for meltdown and embrace the madness. It's a flat-out blast.
