HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX

Budapest's Hungaroring first hosted Formula One all the way back in 1986 and has been included on the calendar ever since, making it the third most continuously visited circuit in F1 – after Monaco and Monza. The circuit's construction in a natural amphitheatre ensures spectators get a good view of the action wherever they sit – though occasionally the action is limited in scope. The Hungaroring is a notoriously difficult circuit at which to make a pass. Its winding layout makes it the slowest of the full-time bespoke racing circuits and frequently a race is won and lost on strategic decisions.

WELCOME TO BUDAPEST

Culturally progressive and architecturally beautiful, Budapest is an impressive city and one which extends a hearty welcome to Formula One. As one of the more accessible races, the Hungarian Grand Prix attracts huge numbers of tourists to the city, the evening ambience of which in mid summer can rival the action during the day at the circuit. From gothic ruin bars to dinner cruises on the Danube, Budapest provides a great location to end the first half of the season and send F1 away for it's summer break in good spirits. In recent years it's also upped its game in the glamour stakes, becoming a major hub for film and TV production, doubling for basically any location from medieval Italy to Edwardian London.
